PRE-CRASH SAFETY SYSTEM

The GS was the first vehicle in its class to employ innovative Pre-Crash Safety (PCS) technology, which can pre-empt potential collision situations and engage specific safety systems accordingly.

The Lexus Pre-Crash Safety (PCS) system employs state-of-the-art technology to help reduce damage and injury where it calculates that a collision is inevitable.

A millimetre-wave radar sweeps the road ahead of the GS detecting certain obstacles and continuously calculates the risk of impact. If there is a high risk of impact, PCS automatically adjusts the Adaptive Variable Suspension settings to help reduce nose-dive when braking.

If a collision is deemed unavoidable, Pre-Crash Brake Assist engages to provide maximum brake pressure and the Pre-Crash seatbelts are automatically retracted to better restrain the driver and front passenger. This and a lower impact speed can help reduce injury and vehicle damage.
