ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL
Using advanced millimetre-wave radar technology, Lexus’ innovative Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) can adjust the speed of the IS in relation to a vehicle ahead.
The pre-set cruising speed is maintained until the radar detects a slower moving vehicle in front, when ACC reduces the speed of the IS accordingly.
The driver then has the option to select a set vehicle-to-vehicle following distance. Radar technology feeds information to the throttle and braking systems, so the distance selected can automatically be maintained to the vehicle ahead. The system’s control status is clearly displayed on the car’s Multi-Information Display. Once the road is clear again, ACC smoothly returns the IS to the original cruising speed. Please note: Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) is additionally supplied if you specify the option of Pre-Crash Safety (PCS) on an IS 250 sport or luxury model with automatic transmission. ACC operates within a certain speed range only.
